Polymarket leaderboard: what it reveals about you

The Polymarket leaderboard is a public ranking of accounts by profit and by trading volume over the day, the week and the month, and every entry on the leaderboard opens a public profile with that account’s positions, results and full trade history. Trading well on Polymarket therefore puts an account on a public list that anyone can read, copy and investigate.

What does the Polymarket leaderboard show?

The Polymarket leaderboard shows, for each listed account, the rank, the username, the wallet address behind the username, the profit in dollars and the trading volume in dollars over the period selected. One click opens the account’s profile: open positions with their size, closed positions with their result, and the trade history. The leaderboard refreshes as trades settle, so a strong day is visible the same day. Third-party sites copy the leaderboard, add win rates and market-by-market breakdowns, and keep historical snapshots, so an account that reached the top once stays findable long after it drops off. According to Polymarket’s documentation, the public profile lookup by wallet address is what these sites build on.

Why is a good Polymarket record a problem?

A good Polymarket record is a problem because it attracts attention in three ways. First, people study the account’s positions and mirror its moves, which pushes prices against the account on its next trade. Second, people try to work out who the account belongs to, and a visible winner on a political market gets asked how it knew. Third, the account becomes a permanent reference: analytics sites keep snapshots of the leaderboard, so a month at the top is findable years later. The better an account trades, the more readers its record gets, and the more a single clue linking the wallet address to a person matters, because that clue turns a public record of trades into a public record about someone.

How do you trade well without the list?

The Polymarket leaderboard is limited to positions that are publicly linked to an account. On OffMarket, positions are not publicly linked to the trader’s account, so a strong month on OffMarket does not put the account on a public list, does not attract followers to a public address, and does not leave a snapshot for analytics sites to keep. The trader uses the same Polymarket markets at the same odds, and the results stay private.
