How to trade on Polymarket privately

The way to trade on Polymarket privately is to trade through OffMarket. OffMarket is a web app that gives a trader the same Polymarket markets, the same order book and the same odds, with positions that are not publicly linked to the account. Sign in with Google or a crypto wallet, deposit USDC, and trade; no new wallet and no extra setup are needed.

Why are Polymarket trades public?

Polymarket trades are public because Polymarket records every trade on a public blockchain and shows every account’s positions, results and history on a public profile page. According to Polymarket’s documentation, public endpoints return any wallet’s positions and activity, and trackers, leaderboards and analytics sites all read that record. A person who knows a trader’s username or wallet address sees what the trader holds, how much, when the shares were bought and what they earned, without logging in. Changing a username does not help, because every tool works by address, and Polymarket offers no setting that hides positions. Privacy on Polymarket therefore has to come from how positions are placed, not from the profile settings.

How does OffMarket work for a trader?

OffMarket is a web app for trading Polymarket markets with positions that are not publicly linked to the trader’s account. The requirements are a Google account or a crypto wallet, USDC to deposit, and nothing to install. Reading a market and placing an order work the same way as on Polymarket: pick a side, set the size, confirm. OffMarket routes the order to the same Polymarket order book, so the price is the Polymarket price, and the trade settles on Polymarket like every other trade there. The change is the public record: a tracker, a leaderboard or a profile search pointed at the account finds no positions, because the positions are not publicly linked to it.

  1. Sign in to OffMarket with Google or connect a crypto wallet.
  2. Deposit USDC.
  3. Trade the same Polymarket prediction markets at the same odds. Positions are not publicly linked to the account.

What stays the same on OffMarket?

Three things stay the same when Polymarket markets are traded through OffMarket. First, the markets are the same: every Polymarket market open today is available. Second, the odds are the same: OffMarket routes to the same Polymarket order book, so a share that costs 72 cents on Polymarket costs 72 cents on OffMarket and pays the same one dollar on a win. Third, settlement is the same: every OffMarket trade settles on Polymarket, which is why OffMarket is available only where Polymarket operates. Trading is not available from the United States. OffMarket is not affiliated with Polymarket.
